Whew~ Had my doubts near the start, but knowing the high quality of your past designs I kept at it. Sure enough, only the last two squares are ambiguous and the resulting image is fantastic. Thank you for a pleasant challenge!
Disappointed and apologies if there is an ambiguity; I thought check was okay.
It was written to demonstrate edge techniques to someone - to place 8 and some of 3,4 in right column and some of the R1 takes a few seconds because of the need for 1s.
Bottom: draw straight line of temps and fill upwards will immediately show position of 2,1 and part of six in R24 so black and erase temps. Bottom 5 must be somewhere under filled dots....
Thanks again, Mystifier, this really deserved all the time and the effort I have spent on it. Great picture, tough puzzle. Anyway, it is a pity there is always someone who can't help himself/herself to reveal spoilers. It would be great if the webmaster could help on this.
WOW, that was really tough, but very exciting. AND a great picture. Good job I've got the day off tomorrow, because it is now nearly 2:30h in the morning and I'm exhausted, but I couldn't stop until I'd eventually solved it. Only last two dots were ambugious. For the rest lots of temps, but perfectly logical. Thanks ever so much! GREAT!
