frustration (17)

Video game sprites are quite the treat! The 8 or 16-bit sprites look really nice when on their consoles. However, when being transferred to Hanjie, they might make you scream due to the lack of logic in some areas.

Self-made sprite for this one, since I'm too lazy to search for a sprite that wouldn't transfer well, and I didn't feel like experimenting.

Hints:
*Fill in C1R10, then fill upwards.
*Fill in C25R12, then fill downwards. On the lowest point, make a diagonal line down-left to Column 22.
*C2R6 is the top point for Column 2.
*At the bottom of Column 20's first 2, draw a diagonal line down-left to Column 15.
*In Rows 1 & 2, the 4 is left of the 3.

The last two hints are when you start working through the puzzle logically with the top three hints. However, you may not even need them if you use connection logic (or whatever it's called when you can see that the lines connect to other lines).

  • @Cinderwild - I didn't list a game because it's a self-made sprite. Glad I made it look convincing enough!

@Mangathe1, Gjenny - I usually make sure all my hints are as correct as possible. I really don't want to accidentally submit a puzzle like this and find out that I made a mistake in hints or missed a step since, if that happens, I would have to post the fixes or missed hints in the comments! The description is better due to having the scrollbar if the hints are long, and I don't want to have players scroll up and down just to get these hints.

I always make sure my puzzles can become logical with these hints, and I always test them to make sure it does work. I put it through a Nonogram Solver with the hints I give, then I solve it regularly with my own logic and skills because I wouldn't want to not be able to solve it myself.

... Sorry, I'm ranting. Guess I'm frustrated by your frustration thinking my hints are wrong! :< But hey, I thought of a new frustration puzzle I could do for later due to this! Thanks, Mangathe1, and thanks for verifying my hints, Gjenny!

  • It certainly was very tricky but finally got there. However, Strange Victini, I'm going to give a low score as I don't believe that Hanjies should only be solvable with all those hints such as you gave. Logic is the name of the game!

  • I can respect that, Cha cha. This series is made to mock illogical puzzles by making illogical puzzles with hints to make them logical. I understand this isn't everyone's cup of tea. I don't expect high ratings on these puzzles because I know illogical puzzles can be extremely frustrating. Hence why this series is called "Frustration"!

Thanks for your insight, Cha cha!

  • Very frustrating. Started twice, because I followed your hints wrongly. The hints are definitely correct. I had fun.
I really enjoy your 'frustration' series. I'm fed up of seletrical patterns, even if they are pretty. I enjoy the challenge. This really was a good one!
And I appreciate the time you take, because I know how long it takes to test puzzles like this. Thankyou!

    P.S.: Although???? I'm a bit dissapointed you use a nonogram solver. ;-)

  • Whispering: Where can I find such a Nonogram Solver???

  • Amazingly enough i found 2 possible solutions right at the end, just to make it a little bit more frustrating
    amazing job
    actually quite fun to solve.

  • Mostly logical. Managed to guess the correct answer on first try without using hints.
