Vice versa
Ein Hase sitzt auf einer Wiese,
des Glaubens, niemand sähe diese.
Doch, im Besitze eines Zeißes,
betrachtet voll gehaltnen Fleißes
vom vis-à-vis gelegnen Berg
ein Mensch den kleinen Löffelzwerg.
Ihn aber blickt hinwiederum
ein Gott von fern an, mild und stumm.

A rabbit in a clearing thinks there is no one to see him
But on a hill opposite, a man with binoculars watches the little one with great interest
A man, in turn watched by a gentle and quiet god

Un lapin dans une clairière pense qu'il n'y a personne pour le voir
Mais sur une colline en face, un homme muni de jumelles observe le petit avec beaucoup d’intérêt
Un homme, à son tour regardé par un dieu doux et tranquille
