  • Nice one. Unfortunately (and please know that I DID love your puzzle!!) there is a LOT of guesswork in order to complete it due to the high number of WHITE squares. I have been doing these kind of puzzles for YEARS which is why I was able to figure it out easily and luckily got it right on my FIRST try!! However, others who don't consider themselves "experts" on Hanjie's may have a much harder time finishing it. Just a suggestion: try NOT to use so many WHITE squares next time b/c it makes it almost impossible to complete. Perhaps INVERT the puzzle so all the black squares are white and all the white are black!?!

Great try though! I enjoyed it! Thanks for the fun!!! ~:)

    ******************************************
    SPOILER ALERT!!!!
    ******************************************
After you have placed all the middle 5 squares (vertically and horizontally) you will find that it's quite difficult to figure out WHERE to go from there.

Start by putting a 2x2 square in each corner.
From there attach a 3x3 square at the very CORNER of the 2x2 square you just created. This 3x3 will NOT be filled in but will have a white square in the middle of it!
Do this again and place ANOTHER 3x3 square at the very corner of your last one.
Finally connect an FINAL 2x2 square to the very corner of the 3x3 one you just placed down.
Do this on ALL sides, making them totally symmetrical!

It should create a huge "X" across the puzzle...with a 2x2 in each corner...then TWO 3x3 squares (with a white dot in the middle)...and finishing off with a final 2x2 square.

If that doesn't make enough sense then here is a more specific answer. Let me know if you still need help and I will try my best to "talk" you through it!!

For a better explanation below is a "step by step" of the first few lines across! Keep in mind that the entire puzzle is symmetrical vertically AND horizontally....so what you do on one side you must do to all the others!!

Here are the first 5 lines across:
    Line ONE = 2B - 10W - 1B - 10W - 2B
    Line TWO = 1B - 9W - 3B - 9W - 2B
    Line THREE = 2W - 3B - 5W - 5B - 5W - 3B - 2W
    Line FOUR = 2W - 1B - 1W - 1B - 7W - 1B - 7W - 1B - 1W - 1B - 2 W
    Line FIVE = 2W - 3B - 7W = 1B -7W - 3B - 2W

Hope that helps!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!! ~:)

  • The suggestion, that KatrinaJ made, is my "Tile 16", it is inverse this puzzle and really much easyer to solve! =)
    Thanks for the advice, KatrinaJ!
