"I shouldn't have to use an external link to solve a puzzle..."

Let's face it. People want to keep the picture as it is because it looks good, so they'll provide a link to a picture that looks like the puzzle. It's difficult to do a puzzle based on a picture sometimes because it doesn't line up exactly and you have to guess how it's done. Sometimes, it's so out of place with the picture, you don't even know what to do with the puzzle at all! And you find out it was just to show the picture...
