Another transactinide, named after Nicolaus Copernicus, who formulated a heliocentric model with the planets orbiting around the Sun, replacing Ptolemy's earlier geocentric model.
Also known as eka-mercury, ununbium, or simply (element) 112, it has an atomic number of 112, with its most stable isotope being copernicium-285.
